ScummVM puts together a host of different game engine recreations, enabling users to play several different classic computer games regardless of platform. ScummVM can interpret the Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion (SCUMM) scripting language present in these games so that they can be played on systems like Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Dreamcast, PSP, PS2, SymbianOS, and more. As long as the game data files are present, ScummVM replaces the .exe component of the game, making classics from the catalogs of LucasArts and Sierra easy to load and play.
