An open source Windows utility for creating and manipulating archives.
7-Zip takes advantage of the new high-compression ratio 7z format, and also supports other compression formats. 7-zip has the ability to pack and unpack ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR archives, and the ability to unpack the RAR, CAB, ISO, ARJ, LZH, CHM, MSI, WIM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB and NSIS formats. For ZIP and GZIP formats, 7-Zip provides a compression ratio that is 2-10 % better than the ratio provided by PKZip and WinZip. Features like self-extracting capability for 7z format, integration with the Windows Shell, a powerful File Manager, and a powerful command line version make 7-zip a high-quality all purpose archive manager.
